As part of the ORBIT II research project, an annual workshop is organised on current topics relating to biological methanation. The third workshop, “Position and potential of biological methanation in the German energy system”, addressed the challenges of methanation in Germany, possibilities for making biogas plants more flexible through methanation and examples from practice. Various speakers from science, industry and the municipal sector vividly highlighted their respective perspectives on possible solutions.
